Our Process
We ensure good management, efficiency and awareness of resources in our operation.
The plant in Quepos, in Cañas and our breeding laboratory have the best equipment to improve, regulate and monitor water consumption through wastewater treatment, chemicals through registration platforms and energy regulation through the ISO 50001 certification.
Our Materials
Currently our packaging materials are made of reusable Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). However, our goal and aspiration for this coming year is to completely remove all use of stereophon and plastic locally.
Our Carbon Footprint
The transportation of our local merchandise is powered by LPG gas engines, which produce less polluting emissions.
Our Fishermen
Fishermen are the pillar of change for transformation. Our interest is to ensure their growth and development to increase their competitiveness and sustainability.
We also ensure through our sustainable sourcing policy that our suppliers comply with minimum catch sizes, conservation of endangered species such as sharks and turtles (view policy), as well as the use of appropriate fishing gear (circle hooks and monofilament netting).
Sustainability Proyects
FISHERMEN ARE THE PILLAR OF CHANGE FOR TRANSFORMATION.
We accompany our suppliers on their way to MSC CERTIFICATION by validating and reinforcing local efforts to ensure the care of the water and its species.
To this end, we have developed a multi-species and multi-country FIP that covers the vast majority of our wild fishery. We are proud to say our FIP has an A rating due to the progress it has made since its inception.
